Getting started
What is TestHero?
An independent platform for original NAPLAN-style and selective practice. It is not an official NAPLAN product.
Which years and subjects can I choose?
The library is organised for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 across Reading, Writing, Conventions of Language and Numeracy.
How do I begin?
Choose a home or school path, select the learner and find a readiness check or available paper. The getting started guide walks through the steps.
Does a child at home need a separate email address?
No. A parent manages named child profiles on one account.
Access and plans
What is free for families?
Each home learner can take one reduced-scope readiness check and see a basic result.
What requires paid access?
Full home practice and detailed reports require a paid plan or an applicable pack entitlement.
How does school access work?
Teachers work in a school workspace. Completion is visible; scores and detailed reporting follow an active school licence.
Can I retry the same paper?
A form entitlement or school assignment allows one attempt. Choose another available paper for further practice.
Sitting a paper
Will my answers save?
The player autosaves answers during an attempt and flushes when the learner leaves or submits.
What happens when the timer ends?
The timed attempt submits automatically when it expires.
Why can I not return to an earlier section?
Some papers have section locks. Their rules are enforced for the attempt and shown during the sitting.
Are tools the same for every paper?
No. Available tools depend on the form and question configuration.
Results and reports
What does the free readiness result show?
An overall score, one strength and one focus area.
What do detailed reports add?
Entitled home and school reports can show history and section or domain breakdowns.
Are the scores official NAPLAN results?
No. They describe performance on independent practice content and are not equivalent to official NAPLAN scale scores.
How is Writing marked?
Writing responses use an asynchronous rubric-backed marker. Feedback is practice guidance, and marking can take longer than selected-response items.
A paper to practise.
A clearer next step.
Original questions, a focused player and results you can use.
One free readiness check per learner. Full practice and detailed reports require access.
